Review: Advent in Narnia

 

The fans of C.S. Advent in Narnia has 28 daily devotionals focused on the advent season weaving in characters and symbols from Naria to illustrate the daily reflections.

As you complete the readings, you are also provided passages from The Chronicles of Narnia to read.  These passages correspond to the daily readings and provide additional context.

Each daily reading also includes a scripture passage and reflection questions to help you and your family prepare for the Christmas season.  You may reflect on these questions quietly or discuss them as a family.  The reflection questions are appropriate for children of all ages.

Advent in Narnia engages readers by blending the characters from Narnia and scriptural truths in a new and unique light.  The devotions include discussions about the lamppost, Aslin, the fur coats, traditions, and more.

These 28 daily devotionals can be studied between Thanksgiving and Christmas, starting on the first day of December.  You will find your heart opened and prepared for the Christmas season.  You will want to read this book with your family again and again every Christmas season.  I also think this book would make a great 28-day devotional series any time of the year.
