Gifts For Book Lovers
Books by their favorite author(s)
If you are shopping for a person that loves to read, most likely they have a favorite author or several favorite authors. If you know their favorite author, you can look for new books by this writer or maybe vintage books. But, if the gift recipient reads many books a year, be careful not to purchase books they already have.
To get some insights on what your book lover would like to read, you might be able to get some ideas through a casual conversation about books. You could mention books you were considering as gifts (i.e. ask if the recipient has heard of the book or say you were thinking about getting it to read and see their response). If the recipient is not interested or says they already have a copy, then that book is not a good choice. But if they are interested or say they can’t wait to read it – this book would be a great gift.
Gift Certificates
A gift card to local or online book stores is also a great option for book lovers. Personally, I am picky about the books I am interested in. I like to look at the cover, read the back cover, check out the chapters, even read the online reviews. I am a book lover that would love a gift card.
Create a Wish List
Retailers like Amazon allow you to make a wish list of gifts you would like. You could ask your favorite book lover what books have they been wanting to read, but not purchased or read yet. Then have them create a wish list to be your shopping guide.
A wish list is a great idea for everyone on your list. If they create a wish list for you, then you can just purchase gifts right from the wish list.

Mats Wolff says
I love the idea of having the person create a wish list of all the books that they want to read. My wife loves reading supernatural fiction books, and her birthday is coming up at the end of the month. I’m not sure what books to get her, but thanks for the ideas!
