Review of Breaking Busy by Alli Worthington
It’s so easy to be busy doing everything we think is important that we could miss the life and blessings God intended for us. We think we should say yes to every request we receive, we think we can do it all, but there comes a moment when we all realize we have to break busy let some things go.

In Breaking Busy: How to Find Peace & Purpose in a World of Crazy, Alli Worthington encourages us (moms) to take a step back and recognize most of us are trying to do too many things and we may be focusing our time and energy on the wrong things.
Consider this quote from Breaking Busy, “But contrary to what many of us have been told, we all have limits. We can’t handle it all, nor should we. We have to stop pretending we are superhuman with an endless supply of energy, because we aren’t.” If you are working too much and always feeling frustrated it may be time for you to break busy too.
In Breaking Busy, you will learn how to understand and work within your capacity limits and yet do all God has planned for you to do. You will also learn how prioritize relationships, and focus on your calling. This book is written with a delightfully personal style that will help you see you are not the only one who feels too busy and how scary life changes can be.
One of my favorite chapters in the book is about breaking busy with our time. We want to use our time well, but we also must be careful what we allow to take our time. If you always feel stressed because your are short of time, are you letting urgent things take over? Learn to be a goal setter and focus your priorities toward your goals.
After you finish reading Breaking Busy, you will:
- Know how to set limits for yourself based on your capacity not what you think you should be doing
- Focus on making time for the important relationships in your life
- Find your calling and purpose
- Learn to control your thoughts and worry
- Confidently make decisions
- Improve your communication with others by using a communication style that fits their primary communication style.
Breaking Busy will help you find the ways you can live your life with purpose. Even in a busy world that gives priority to being busy, we don’t have to live a crazy busy life.
Your turn…
How do you break busy? How do you stop doing too much in a world of busy?

This sounds like a great book. I like the fact that it will help a person be more organized with their time.

Hi Crystal, Breaking Busy is a great book. It’s all about how we use our time and how we can stop being so busy we don’t enjoy our life.
