Peppermint Hot Chocolate Recipe
Hot Chocolate is a simple treat the whole family can enjoy and it’s so easy to make. My girls love to make a big mug of hot chocolate and top it with a few marshmallows or a big swirl of whipped cream.
This Peppermint Hot Chocolate recipe is perfect to enjoy at Christmas time or anytime during the year if you love peppermint. If you don’t like peppermint, just leave out the peppermint and you will still have a delicious hot chocolate recipe.

This hot chocolate recipe is easy to make and it’s perfect for family night or small group gatherings.

What you need to make Hot Chocolate:
- 1/2 teaspoon peppermint extract/simple syrup
- 4 to 5 teaspoons cocoa
- 4 tablespoons sugar
- 2 cup milk
- 2 peppermint candies; crushed
- Whipped topping

Mix all ingredients in a medium-sized mixing bowl. Start by adding sugar and cocoa to the bowl.

Heat milk in microwave at high (100%) 1-1/2 minutes or until hot.

Gradually add hot milk to cocoa mixture into the bowl; stirring until well blended.

Stir in peppermint extract or syrup. Pour into 2 large mugs for drinking. Top with whipped topping and crushed peppermint candy.
