It’s Day 12 of our discussion of Make Over Your Mornings a 14-day course by Crystal Paine. Today’s video and workbook lesson are designed to encourage you to not only start your new morning routine, but use routines to ensure you consistently stay with your new morning plan.
Routines Make Every Day Decisions Automatic
Do you use routines for your tasks you do every day? Have you noticed how following a daily routine can simplify your life because you no longer have to think through decisions, and you are able to make choices automatically?
In today’s video lesson, Crystal challenges us to create routines for things we do every day. You could have an evening routine or a bed-time routine. You could have a breakfast routine or a monthly dinner menu plan. Crystal shares many suggestions for routines that you can use to reduce decisions you make every day.
Don’t forget your day at work. What routines do you currently have? Are those routines the best use of your time? What could you do that would make your morning hours at work more efficient?
Reward Your Hard Work
Starting a new routine and working toward your goals is difficult. Be sure you set milestones to reach and celebrate when you reach those goals. You can start working toward a new goal and if you stay on target and make progress toward your goals for 21-days, celebrate.
Crystal reminds us that “progress requires sustained effort.” You must continually work toward your goals.
Today’s Challenge
Consider your every day schedule. How can you add simple routines that will make your day and decisions easier?
Once you have determined a few areas you can improve, come up with a plan to simplify that part of your day with a new routine.
Your turn…
What routines will you be adding to reduce decisions you make daily and help you feel less overwhelmed? What routines are you currently using that help reduce your decision fatigue?
