Have you tried using essential oils? Several months ago, I purchased some essential oils, but only briefly tried them.  Then in the late fall and winter months, I was coughing constantly and it did not seem like any medicine was helping. When I was looking for alternative ideas to stop the coughing I found essential oils.  Essential oils like eucalyptus and peppermint do help calm my cough. Today, I’m sharing 8 summer essential oil diffusers you can enjoy this summer.

What are essential oils? They are the liquid concentrate from plants. Today, most often they are used to provide aromatic and wellness therapy.  We call them “essential” because they are the essence of the plant.  You can use essential oils in 3 different ways: in a diffuser, topically and in your home products.  The blends I am sharing today are to be used in your diffuser.

Benefits of Summer Essential Oils

Lavender Oil

One of the most popular essential oils. It is used for calming and to help as a sleep aid. It can also reduce itching and stings from bee stings, insect bites, and minor burns.  It soothes dry skin and helps relieve nausea and motion sickness.

Lemongrass Oil

Lemongrass oil has many wellness benefits including help reduce pain and lowers fevers.  It has antiseptic properties that help heal wounds and it acts as an astringent to stop blood flow. It can also be used as a deodorant and more.

Peppermint Oil

Peppermint oil has many uses including reducing muscle pain and migraines, clears the sinuses and relieves irritations in the throat and coughing. It can help reduce fever and itching. It can help improve concentration for individuals with focus issues. It’s a natural bug repellent which is great if you love the outdoors.

Orange Oil

Orange essential oil can be used as a perfume and insect repellent. It also has anti-inflammatory properties to help reduce pain caused by inflammation.  It can also be used as an antiseptic.
