I’m guessing you set goals every month, but you might be feeling frustrated or discouraged because you never seem to reach your goals?
Do you wonder why it seems others can reach their goals so easily and without much effort but you struggle every month or even every day?
What if you had a simple plan to will help you create goals you can achieve and then develop an action plan every month?
Setting goals without taking action is more like making wishes.
To get results, goals need action.
Do you know the one action you can take that will significantly improve your chances to reach your goals?
Write your goals down in a goal planner.
That’s right. Studies show when you write your goals down, you are 42% more likely to achieve your goals.
That’s a significant difference between goal success and goal failure.
When we write our goals down, we give our goals a reality. When we just talk about goals or think in our mind what we would like to do, we haven’t actually decided. Once we write our goals down, we commit to them. Once we have committed to our goals, we don’t like the feelings we have by not achieving them or not reaching them. So, we are more likely to work hard to make them happen and not disappointment ourselves.
But more than just writing down general goals like I want to lose 10 pounds this month or I want to save $750 this month. You need to write down how you will make these goals happen. You need notes and an action plan. You might even need to adjust your plan during the month if these are not working as you expected.
Every month, I write down goals. I have a goal (the one I want to achieve) and a stretch goal (if everything goes perfectly I might be able to achieve this goal).
Why do I have a stretch goal? Because if I reach my monthly goal(s) on week 3 of the month or sometime before the month ends, I want to still have a target I am trying to reach. I don’t want to say to myself, I reached my goal for the month. I’m done. Nope. I keep going and try to reach the stretch goal, it gives me an extra push.
