Classic Mac & Cheese recipe your family will love.
Start by cooking the Elbow macaroni. Get a 6-quart pot, add 5 cups of water, bring to a boil. Add the macaroni and cook until tender. Salt if desired. Add a teaspoon of olive oil to prevent water from boiling out of the pot.
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Prepare a 13 X 9 baking pan. Rub a thin layer of butter on the pan to prevent sticking.
Add the cooked macaroni, most of the mild cheddar cheese (save a little to sprinkle on top), the milk (add additional milk if needed to make creamy) and butter (melted) to the baking pan. Completely blend all the ingredients.
Place the pan in the oven and bake about 15-20 minutes until completely heated and bubbly. Sprinkle the top with the remaining cheese and add a few breadcrumbs if desired.
Allow to set for about 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy with your favorite veggies or a pork chop.
You may vary this recipe with different cheeses. You might try White Cheddar or a 4-Cheese Blend. Be creative and see what you and your family enjoy.
