Are you looking for ways to make money as a stay at home mom? Or maybe you work full-time or part-time but you want to work from home or need to increase your income with a side hustle? With a little creativity, everyone can find jobs and earn extra money working at home. Here are 10 real ways you can make money from home.
To get started, let’s make $500 extra dollars a month your starting point. You can divide $500 several different ways to determine the type of work you might complete to reach your goal. For example, you could work 10 hours during the month for $50 per hour or 20 hours for $25 per hour or you could work 5o hours for $10 per hour.
After you decide on an hourly rate for your time, you can also decide how many weeks you want to work each month. Do you want to do all the work in 1 week or just a few hours every week during the month? Remember, the more you can charge per hour for your services the fewer hours you will need to work to reach the goal.
When you think about making money from home, consider your time and your skills. Take a look at these ideas for stay at home moms to make money.
10 Real Ways to Make Money from Home

1. Try Fiverr
On Fiverr, you can create simple tasks that you can complete for $5 per task. You can make additional income on Fiverr by upselling or adding services to your basic task. With Fiverr, you can set times when you are able to work and you can manage your workload based on your personal schedule.
You might offer to complete basic proof-reading of 500 words for $5.00, or you could have an additional 250 or 500 words for an additional $5 or complete editing for an additional fee.
2. Start a Blog
Starting a blog is not a way to make money fast, but if you work hard and build your audience, you have the potential to create a good income from your blog for a long time.
With a blog, you can make money in many different ways including affiliate sales, sponsored posts, featured advertising and selling your own products. You can also offer other services like virtual assistance, creative design and more from your blog.
Here’s a complete guide to starting your own blog in 30 days or less.
3. Offer Virtual Assistance Services
If you enjoy a variety of office management type jobs, you could be a virtual assistant. Virtual assistants offer many services and you can focus on the services and tasks you enjoy most.
Take a moment and write down your skills. Ask yourself what skills do you have and what do you enjoy doing? You can probably offer these services to others virtually and add to your income each month.

4. You can start a freelance writing business
If you like to write and you write well, you could start a freelance writing business. Many bloggers and businesses will hire writers for their copywriting needs. You will find writing requests from bloggers, businesses who want brochures and media kits written, websites that need content and even ghostwriting books.
Try Googling something like, “paid blogging jobs” or “freelance writing”. You will get a listing for many websites where you could write blog posts and get paid. You can also find Facebook groups to offer your writing services and websites like Freelance Writing Jobs and ProBlogger’s job section or read Smart Blogger’s suggestions for how to find freelance writing jobs.

5. Review and test websites
Publishers and bloggers need to know how new users feel about their website. You can be a website tester. As a website tester, you would provide feedback for bloggers and publishers about your first impressions of their website. You can make $10 per 20-minute review. You can find out more about being a website tester here.
6. You can tutor students in a subject area you are an expert
Tutors in my area make $10 for 30 minutes or $20-$25 per hour. Since most students need weekly tutoring, you would only need 6-12 students each week (depending if they were 30 minutes or an hour) to reach your goal of $500 per month. You can also tutor students online.
Tutors can work at varying times either after school or on the weekends. You can have a very flexible schedule. However, I will note, you might have cancellations too. Since you are only paid when you tutor, you might want to have 1 or 2 extra students per month to be sure you reach your minimum income goal.
7. Sell digital products
People are looking for solutions to their problems. If you can offer an all-in-one solution, they are likely to buy your product. Digital ebooks and courses that solve problems and make life easier can help you make money from home.
You can sell your books and printable products on your website and through your own shop like Shopify (recommended), Etsy and on Amazon. It’s best to test different ways to sell see which one works best for each product.
8. You can make physical products to sell
Do you make crafts or other handmade products and gifts? You can sell them in a Shopify store or in an Etsy shop.
Unique handmade gifts, soaps, candles, and more make great shop items.
You can also sell dropship products that are made by other companies and you receive a commission.
9. You could be a reseller on e-Bay or Craiglist
A great place to start is clean out your house and sell all the things you no longer need or use. If you set-up an e-Bay store, try to focus on a specific category of products so you will get return customers.
There are so many options for eBay stores. You can sell used books, organization tools, planners, and so much more. Find a niche and focus on filling a need.
10. Sell Stock Photography or be a Photographer for Hire
Did you know if you are a great photographer you can sell your photographs? You could sell your photographs directly to customers or you could sell to a stock photography website like Shutterstock.
Bloggers and websites constantly need new photos. Offering a new and unique style of photo will be attractive to many websites.
You could also set-up a photography business and take pictures at special events like birthday parties, celebrations, weddings and more.
With a little creativity, you can come up with many ways to make money as a stay at home mom. The possibilities for working at home are limitless.

Awesome ideas! I’ve been a stay-at-home mom for over 25 years and a single mom for the past 2 : ) I have an eBay business and teach ESL online to Chinese kids with Magic Ears. I love knowing I can support my family and still be at home raising my kids!!

I started a home business from the craft I loved to make. It has generated a nice montly income that helps my family make it from check to check. I also try to do craft shows through the year for more of a lump sum income and that seems to help. If you do crafts then look into craft shows. They are fun and mostly affordable to get into.
