Have you ever thought about working from home?  Do you desire the freedom and flexibility working from home offers? Maybe you want to work from home but don’t know how you could make the income you need.  Today, for moms that have a vision and determination, opportunities are available to make a living working from home.

In my experience, working from home also helped me grow.  I learned to be disciplined (work had to be done), I learned to communicate better through writing and with phones because I could not be “in-person” at meetings very often.  I learned to set my own agenda daily and know what was the most important work to be done.

If you long to work from home or need an extra income as a stay at home mom, I know it can be done (but don’t expect overnight success, as with all businesses, it can take time to build a business and you might need to start as a side hustle until you grow to a full-time income). If you enjoy writing, freelance writing may be a great job for you.  Freelance writers can write on many topics or may focus on one main niche.  You can write short blog posts or longer writing projects like books, media kits, or other promotional materials.

Freelance writers are not likely to get bored due to the many writing projects with will work on. You are likely to find a niche that you enjoy.

Virtual Assistant

Virtual Assistants perform many tasks for small business owners.  As a virtual assistant, you can determine the types of services you will offer.

For example, you might read and respond to emails (or sort and organize them).  You might write and schedule social media posts.  Or you might manage the basics of a website owners blog.

The tasks of a virtual assistant vary.  Just like with freelance writing, you can offer many different services or focus on just a few services like social media management or advanced business communications like writing speeches, preparing presentations, or writing promotional emails.

Blogger/Affiliate Marketing

Bloggers are writers.  Bloggers produce content and resources.  Bloggers make money many ways like sponsored content and affiliate marketing and selling their own products and services.

Affiliate Marketing is when a blogger shares with their audience a product or service and shares reasons why this product solves a problem or makes life easier.  If you are a blogger and you don’t have your own product to sell, affiliate marketing is a great way to share helpful products and make money as a blogger.

Photographer

Photographers with beautiful pictures are in high demand on the internet.  Bloggers need beauitiful pictures, businesses need pictures for brochures and promotions, writers need great eye catching pictures for the books.

You can also do family and individual photography such as taking family pictures at location shoots (think outdoors or at unique locations), wedding photography, real estate photography.  So many possibilities.

You will need to be a great photographer.  There are many courses and classes available to learn photography.

As a content creator, you can design e-courses for any audience. What topics are you an expert in?  Are you an experienced world traveler?  Create an e-course on international travel.  Are you a great cook with your crock pot?  Create an e-course on how to use a crock pot daily and include your favorite recipes.

You can also write books on topics that interest your audience.  Are you an expert in organization or time management?  What can you teach an audience that will help them and make their lives easier?

In addition to e-courses and books, you can also create webinars, live events and in-person trainings.

You may find that it’s a combination of these jobs that work for you.  You might be a blogger and a content creator or a freelance writer and a virtual assistant.  What do you enjoy doing?  Find the right combination that works for you.
