Summer is a great time for fun and relaxing. Reading can be part of summer fun. I have always enjoyed reading. So many great books are waiting on the shelves and on my Kindle to be read. I want my children to grow with a love of reading too. A fun summer reading program will encourage good reading skills and a love of reading.
Summer Reading Programs
Barnes and Noble Summer Reading Challenge offers children a FREE book for reading 8 books this summer. Program is available for children in grades 1-6.
Scholastic Summer Reading challenges children to read minutes every day. Every school is in a competition. The more minutes your child reads, the more stories and rewards they earn.
Learn with ESA is a free program (also has a paid upgrade) that teaches reading, language and grammar skills for children in kindergarten to 6th grade.
Dr. Seuss Reading order 5 classic Dr. Seuss books and a free gift for $5.95. After your first order, you will receive additional books each month. My children and I love reading Dr. Seuss books. They are great reading for pre-school and kindergarten age. My favorite book as a child was Green Eggs and Ham, I can still remember almost all the words.
Spelling City offers spelling and writing programs for 1st-12th graders all summer. Spelling City offers practice with spelling and vocabulary in ways that makes learning fun!
Highlights Magazine is a children’s classic. I remember reading Highlights as a child. The fun stories and funny pictures with people and things that did not belong. You and your child will enjoy reading Highlights Magazine together every month.
Reading Eggs is a program to help children learn to read. It focuses on children 3-13 and includes lots of fun reading activities.
